The promised day has finally arrived! Thanks to the recent improvement made by eladash, the coveted PlayStation exclusive title, Metal Gear Solid 4, now goes ingame in RPCS3. Here's a look at some gameplay footage running on the latest master as at the time of making this video.
Work to improve compatibility of this title in RPCS3 has been on-going since 2017 with Numan's implementation of sys_overlay and subsequent improvements by Nekotekina and eladash. Thanks to the efforts by the developers, RPCS3 has reached a new milestone in its accuracy and compatibility.
While there's still much to improve for graphics and performance, few testers have already been able to increase the framerate limit to 60FPS using the vblank feature implemented by eladash last month with no adverse effect to gameplay. More testing is necessary to validate this but the initial outlook is nothing but positive! Snake took his time but it seems the wait is finally paying off.
